Last Thursday, every member of the school community participated in the Thomas Jefferson Symposium to Advance Research (tjSTAR). The extensive all-day schedule of events provided opportunities to showcase demonstrations, hands-on activities, lectures and student presentations. Many luminaries from government and the private business sector also participated. Secretary of Education addresses challenges to Virginia’s schools by Arvin Ahmadi Editor in Chief
The culminating activity for tjSTAR’s day-long symposium last Thursday was a keynote address given by Secretary of Education Arne Duncan He addressed the student body on topics ranging from science education to social responsibility.
