Policy
tjTODAY is the official newspaper of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology published monthly by the journalism staff. It serves as a vehicle for student expression and is an open forum for issues of interest and concern to the school community. A full-year subscription can be purchased through the Thomas Jefferson Publications Package or by sending a check or money order for $10 to tjTODAY.

The staff is deeply committed to a code of journalistic ethics that demands the exercise of accuracy, good judgment and impartiality. The content of tjTODAY is determined by the editorial board. In controversial situations, the Editors-in-Chief make final decisions regarding content.

tjTODAY draws from a large pool of student authors, cited as staff writers, for each issue. Students are encouraged to contact the editorial board if interested in working as a staff writer or submitting an opinion piece.

tjTODAY encourages signed letters to the editor but reserves the right to reject or edit any submission for clarity and length. Names may be withheld upon request.

Unsigned editorials reflect the majority opinion of the Editorial Board of tjTODAY, but not necessarily the opinions of individual editors. Signed editorials, letters to the editor and advertisements reflect the views of the authors.

tjTODAY solicits advertising but reserves the right to reject any material deemed libelous, disruptive, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate.

tjTODAY is distributed to all students and faculty of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

News
tjTODAY online is now officially "live." We are now working on a guestbook and other customer relationship management devices; for now please email the webmaster or tjTODAY with suggestions. Image support is still limited due to a number of factors; expect it in the future.

Information
tjTODAY online is a new entrant in the consumer-media market, powered by a print publication with a tradition of excellence, and the new media capability of the Online development team. The entire site runs on a PHP backbone, the programming of which started on 1 October and was effectively operational on 20 October. The "Staff Area" features an advanced security system with session handling, to ensure that only staff members are able to access the data.
